Jos Sax and Bongo with the Flow met at a gig, got talking, and realised they both wanted to build something of their own. So they did.

The two come from different musical worlds. Jos trained at the Royal Northern College of Music, Bongo with the Flow built his craft on stage, gigging long before formal training was ever part of the plan. Starting out as a drummer, he has performed across Europe at everything from après ski events to black tie weddings and corporate functions, with the bongos coming about as a natural progression of that journey. That contrast is part of what makes the duo work. There's a musicality and depth on one side, a raw crowd energy on the other, and together the two sit naturally.

It's a young ensemble, but every performance has felt like it's been doing this for years. Highlights include a wedding in the Lake District and a private birthday celebration at The Black Friar in Salford; the latter a reminder that the duo works just as well without a DJ in the room as it does alongside one.

What sets Jos Sax and Bongo with the Flow apart is their range. They can hold a room during a quiet drinks reception, shift the energy through a long dinner, and when the time is right, take a dancefloor from nothing to electric without it ever feeling forced. That ability to move across the full spectrum of what live music can be, and to do it naturally, is what makes the duo equally at home at a black tie gala as it is at a relaxed outdoor wedding.

Every performance is tailored to the client. Before the event, clients are invited to share a playlist and any requests, which the duo weaves together with their own tried and tested material to create something that feels personal, considered, and completely right for the occasion. No two shows are the same.
